Connecting you to Arizona State University's tech-driven and innovative STEM opportunities.
Congrats! As a TechStart Scholar, you've shown outstanding determination and skill. Arizona State University and TechStart want to connect more students to STEM opportunities, and have chosen you to be one of our Scholars as the next step in your TechStart journey.
As an Arizona State University TechStart Scholar, you'll have access to high-quality STEM curriculum and college credit from the nation's most innovative university. Becoming a Scholar means exploring and imagining the future of technology, and receiving a scholarship to discover the world of computer science.
Gain access to affordable high-quality computer science curriculum
ASU and TechStart believe that providing young people with access to high-quality STEM coursework through scholarships, is fundamental to the success of our communities and our country.
Together we are covering the costs of the course Programming for Everyone (CSE 110) with a full scholarship, so you are able to further explore this important field.
After you've completed the course, you will then receive reduced course tuition through ASU's risk-free, low cost way to earn college credit that can be applied to your Arizona State University college degree, or transfer to another university.
About the course
Every day, computers and algorithms touch the lives of everyone around us in both mundane and profound ways. These algorithms are in the plants and distribution systems that bring you clean water and electricity, sensors that moderate the flow of traffic in the tractors and combines that sow and harvest our food, and in the satellites that measure and predict the weather trends. If you are curious about what computers can do, and how we instruct them to do those things - this course is for you. No prior programming experience is needed for this course. In addition to the exposure to programming, you'll gain a powerful set of thinking and problem-solving skills that you can use in your daily life.
